My advice is if you are not a man of faith (Actively living a Christ like life) you aren't likely to make any impression on a great Philippina. Most of these great women are Faith based, modest, reserved, and moral. If your trying to find a girl to just fall in line and be a trophy instead of a respected balance to your masculine (not toxic) nature, you're gonna be disappointed. And most the looser or creepy foreigners are reducing the pool of Phililipinas quite a bit just by their eww factor. Very wise interview and I agree with you guys 100%. The gems are out there I was married to a Filipina for 13 years and became a widower and my teenage kids wanted me to find them a new mum. I was fortunate enough to meet a 40 yo amazing woman that has ticked all the boxes with financial security, a housing portfolio better than mine lol, very good looks and the best of all an amazingly positive attitude who is a joy to be around. I was on a dating site looking for a Filipina here in the states. I got to chat with one on that website, then we exchanged phone numbers to text. We texted but she kept talking about her American husband who brought her here and had passed away. She said she was living in my state with a friend of hers and her friends husband in a one bedroom apartment and she slept on the couch. Complained about no privacy. She’d show me what she’d cook from time to time. She had no car, working at an Apple manufacturing plant. No car. So, her husband died and didn’t leave her with anything. Not even his car. No money. No house. Not normal. He was rich, according to her. She wanted me to drive to see her within the first 4 days of texting. I said no. Too soon. Then a couple of weeks went by and she told me she was going to the Philippines to see her family but being scared she’d be looked upon as a failure. 2nd red flag. Then, she wanted me to look up some perfume for her. She only liked one perfume. Remember, she had a laptop and a smartphone. Why couldn’t she look it up. She told me she knew of a retailer near where she lived where she could get it cheaper, but they were out. 3rd red flag. So, I texted her telling her what I knew about what she was trying to do, as well as pointing out all these things, and that was it. After two days of not hearing from her, because I wanted to hear what else she was going to try, I blocked her from getting in touch with me and left that dating site. Point is, pay attention to what they say/do. Subtleties. All females give subtle hints when they’re up to something and I’ve observed over the years, other females can spot those subtle hints. Pay attention to their subtleties, use critical and analytical thinking and be SURE you’ll walk away if you notice 3 subtleties. Keep a long memory. Regardless of what she looks like, what she does or what she says, if you pick up on 3 subtleties, walk. Better yet, run. Remember, your brain is inside that thing on your shoulders, not in your pants. And don’t forget; they have access to the internet, computers and/or smartphones. When your older/retired you’ve been thru a lifetime of difficulties and challenges and now are looking for peace. Not trying to reinvent the wheel or experience drama , just find someone who communicates , wants intimacy and can work thru problems . A really hard thing to find nowadays. The culture here is really different and understanding and patience is paramount.

I also had a Pinay girlfriend in my twenties and I am still close friends with them both. I am lucky to have found a new Filipina and I spent four months with her. Heading back ina few weeks. I think staying single is an option that is hard to fulfill. The suckers get trapped into a relationship sometimes by meeting online and getting fetched at the airport. Then further trapped when they knock up that Pinay and need to take care of their gf, her family and that baby.I think most relationships work out for the foreigner who is willing to commit but that guy must realize that she is most likely dependent on having a relationship to improve her opportunities. Why don’t you find a she appropriate retired lady who are real and committed who lives in other countries who are single and wanted to travel?

This guy has so many options but needs to use some outside-the-box thinking. For one, he dismissed the OFW filipina idea way too quickly--he likes to travel and he can travel anywhere so why not consider traveling to her OFW location and visit the area with her during her time off. Most visas for western guys are for 90 days in another country and can be renewed upon re-entry.

I respect this guy and understand his point of view. For those who love to travel, it's perfectly understandable that you don't want to 'tie yourself down.' For others, who find traveling, except for an occasional vacation, tiring, we have different goals. Probably, we're not socialites, and like keeping to ourselves more. Maybe not exactly introverts, but need more quiet time away from strangers to recharge. That being said, no man should make finding a woman his primary purpose in life. That leads to dependency and even co-dependency. If/when you meet a gal that fully complements you and willing to be a true partner, then you've found a rare jewel, indeed.
